Our inspiration and dream
Ave Maria Youth Theater was founded because we felt our community needed a place where young people could discover their creativity, build confidence, and experience the joy of live theater. Our dream is to provide high-quality theater education in a positive, encouraging environment where every child has the opportunity to grow, make lasting friendships, and develop skills that will benefit them both on and off the stage.
Meet our dedicated team
Together, Betsy Barnes and Ashley Breitag bring decades of experience in theater, music, education, and youth programs. Betsy Barnes (Co-Director) has directed youth arts programs since 2015 and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Arts and Design. Ashley Breitag (Co-Director) has an extensive background in musical theater and music education, with professional vocal training from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Their combined expertise ensures a rich and supportive learning environment for all students.
